Lital Firestone is an activist, performance artist, dancer, and mental health advocate for the trans community. After receiving a Masters of Public Policy at the University of Virginia, Lital moved to Israel/Palestine, supported by two fellowships to deepen their performance art experience, develop a podcast on freedom of movement in Gaza through Gisha, and build queer, anti-occupation activist community. They received dance and theater training at City Dance Strathmore and the Musical Theater Center in Maryland and spent two years studying contemporary, contact, and drag performance in Tel Aviv with Olivia Court Mesa and Roni Chadash. Lital has worked at the intersections of body, art and gender euphoria for several years through their poetry zine “Maverique," and several iterations of Chest Bruise, most recently performed at the Trans Theater Festival at The Brick in NYC. They received a Dorot Fellowship grant to develop and conduct queer performance workshops in Brooklyn this spring.
